01How sidearms fit into the 16
The sixteen gear pieces split evenly: eight melee weapons and eight sidearms. Your first sidearm, the Naylshotte, comes from the Undermether after the Festival in the prologue.
02The one setup with a confirmed payoff
The late-game Gloom farm runs on a sidearm: equip the shotgun sidearm with an Emberseed Stone tarstone, land three rapid blasts on a single elite, and let Burn damage finish it. That loop yields roughly 2,000 Gloom per kill.
That makes the shotgun sidearm the most clearly justified pick right now — not because of a damage ranking, but because it drives the best farming loop anyone has verified.
03Confirmed sidearm drop
- Caged Hystrix — found near the Chamber of Becoming exit, in the same sequence as the Clockwork Scythe from the Sariel fights near Silent Steps.
04Not ranked yet
A full eight-sidearm ranking would be guesswork this soon after launch. Ammo economy in particular has not been tested enough to rank fairly. TBC.
