01Step by step
- Meet Vlas wounded by his attacked cart at the Road to Absolution, in the Outskirts of Mammon.
- After talking to him, examine the cage ahead of his location to get a Coin of Mammon.
- Rest, then talk to Vlas again. He tells you Mutton has been kidnapped.
- Head to the area below at Lonesome Spire. There is a bandit camp with Mutton in a cage — reach it by riding the lift west of the Gate of Mammon beacon.
- Exhaust Vlas' dialogue to give him the Unremarkable Key.
- Go back to where you first met him and find his letter.
- Return to Marrow Keep. Vlas and Mutton are in the area leading to Merrick's shop.
02The step people miss
The cage examination right after the first conversation is easy to walk past, and the Coin of Mammon it gives is the thing that keeps the chain moving. If Vlas seems to have nothing new to say, go back and check the cage.
03Where it ends
Vlas and Mutton settle at Marrow Keep, on the route toward Merrick's shop. Since Marrow Keep is your hub, you will pass them constantly once the questline resolves.
