01Why no tier list yet
Mortal Shell 2 released on 20 August 2026. Every ranking published so far is based on a handful of playthroughs, and the major guide sites currently contradict each other on the top slot.
A tier list built on that is a guess wearing a table. This page will publish one when the 1.0 stat spreads have been tested rather than estimated.
02What is confirmed right now
- There are eight permanent shells: Tiel, Proxima, Eredrim, Smert, Gragu, Sester Genessa, Lazlo and Sariel.
- Harros is prologue-only and is permanently lost — he is not part of the eight.
- Tiel is the only shell with no boss or quest gate, making him the earliest realistic pick.
- Genessa is tied to the Infinite Seal, which unlocks the parry.
- No shell is missable; all eight can be collected in post-story free roam.
03Use this instead for now
Pick by what is gating you, not by a letter grade. Early on, take whatever you can actually reach — that is Tiel. Mid-run, chase Genessa for the parry. Late, sweep the rest for the Shell Seeker trophy.
